Weaving on
promotional
gifts
Weaving is
essentially crossed threads interlaced on a loom to form a
woven cloth and most often used in the promotional industry for
ties and scarves...although not exclusively
so.
Although it
may seem a heavyweight process for short-run personalised
products modern production techniques mean
weaving
is a viable option for special design ties and scarves
often use as corporate
clothing.
Quantities from
as low as 25-50 are possible in
the
weaving
process producing woven polyester, silk or a mixture of
silk and polyester and, therefore, are ideal for small
promotional campaigns.
However, there are many
organisations where quantities of 25-50 are very small
indeed.
Organisations
like the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force
and Public Schools hold the old school tie very dear. And
then consider the use that airlines make of ties and
scarves for cabin crew and ground staff personnel. And
what of the major banks, building societies and finance
houses where virtually every employee is sporting one of
these products with the appropriate logo or
motif.
The hospitality industry is
extremely strong on a corporate house style of dress and,
inevitably, virtually every employee is issued with ties or
scarves, some in the most intricate of designs.
Most of the scarves and ties that
are used in these market segments are traditionally woven on
the loom but, even here, new methods and some old ones are
alternative personalisation methods. For instance,
comparative technological newcomers like sublimation are used
for brilliant and florid patterns and silk screen printing has
always had a place in certain sections of the
fashion trade. Nonetheless, there are many applications
where it just has to be
Weaving
because it often
gives the impression of quality and excellence so beloved
of many of our major national
institutions.
