Local authorities
Local authorities have used SNA products in the shape of coasters, calendar coasters, glass paperweights, crystal paperweights, plaques, identity badges, desk nameplates and metal labels for almost 25 years. In fact, of all the local authorities in the United Kingdom, SNA products are established in over 100 different locations.
So here's a brief run down on the SNA products in the various councils and how they are used. There are other more general samples in the photo gallery,
Aluminium coasters in full colour
Aluminium coasters are widely used by local authorities as inexpensive promotional gifts for council visitors or as promotional coasters on twin town visits sometimes in boxed gift sets of four or six.
Most local authorities use the council coat-of-arms printed in full colour on any one of three attractive metal finishes such as metallic, iridescent or enamel.
But whatever base is chosen you can be sure that the finished aluminium coaster will be a truly spectacular advertising coaster. But the design is up to you; it need not necessarily be a full colour council coat-of-arms; sketches of local landmarks work equally well .
Identity badges in full colour
Individually designed and informative identity badges are part and parcel of everyday life in council offices and SNA have a selection of staff identity badges to meet most requirements.
You can have a permanent lightweight identity badge with name, title and department; a reusable identity label badge or a window badge with interchangeable name inserts as illutrsted in the picture.…and all to your own design without any colour or typestyle restrictions.
The badge fastening is sometimes the cause of much debate as the usual fixings of brooch pins, safety pins and crocodile clips sometimes damage suits and blouses.
A high strength magnetic badge is the perfect answer for a staff identity badge; it will not spoil expensive clothing, is very easy to use and well worth the small additional investment. All SNA badges can be magnetic as required.
Calendar coasters
Calendar coasters are an excellent desktop aide-memoire showing important council dates and other salient information. The calendar layout does not necessarily start on the 1st January as the layout can incorporate any design in any colour combination in either landscape or portrait format.
Glass paperweights & crystal paperweights
Round glass paperweights are one of our most popular gifts and often used for an anniversary, special event, achievement award or as a general visitor gift. Available as a 70mm or 90mm round a glass paperweight is an eye-catching and acceptable souvenir and keepsake of a visit or special occasion. However, for an extra special event a crystal paperweight with the council coat-of-arms encapsulated in full colour will certainly be seen as an extra-special gift to be treasured. A leatherette gift box complete with a coloured satin insert will complete the first class presentation of this gift.
Presentation Wall Plaques
Presentation plaques are often used as achievement awards within a council for virtually any activity within the local authority environment. However, most plaques showing the council coat-of-arms are used on exchange visits or as gifts to visitors.
The traditional wall plaque is often shield shaped or rectangular although a few adventurous councils have opted for an inlaid circular wall plaque. This can be presented in a simple white carton or in a prestige leatherette box complete with a satin inlay and is certainly a handsome gift.
Desk nameplates
Originally, nameplates were engraved black on brass in one of only four standard print formats but with. Modern colour printing techniques this has now changed quite dramatically. It is now an everyday occurrence for nameplates to be in full colour with the council coat-of-arms…it costs no more than a single colour print. So gone are the days when a name plate had to be black brass.
Most desk nameplates are replaceable using the slide-in variety. However, many of the executive desk nameplates are in prestigious walnut, oak or mahogany and these have a custom nameplate bonded to the base; nevertheless, we now supply a grooved wooden name plate holder so that nameplates are exchangeable and with a prestigious wooden base.
Metal labels
Many local authorities use long lasting metal labels - made out of lightweight aluminium - to confirm ownership of their many pieces of equipment. Labels can be supplied self-adhesive or with appropriate holes for screws or rivets. Each label can be sequentially numbered and produced in any number of colours and is a vital part of the asset register.
