Calendar coasters; an effective desktop promotional
gift
If you’re looking for an effective desktop promotional gift you
could do a lot worse than check out the vast range of
promotional calendar coasters that are appearing on office
desks throughout the country.
The product has a small ”footprint” and is quite unobtrusive
yet it is always there fulfilling its necessary function
at various times throughout the day…and, at the same time,
repeating your promotional message.
Most calendar
coasters are either six months or twelve months
but, strangely, even after the calendar dates are exhausted,
the calendar coaster often lives on as a normal coffee
mat.
Calendar coasters come in an
amazing variety of materials including real leather, bonded
leather, vinyl, melamine, gnalvic, acrylic, PVC, brass, steel
and aluminum to name but few.
And, of course, it all depends
how you intend to use the product perhaps to be handed out in
sets of six or four or maybe you intend to use it as part of a
mailing package? A further consideration is the number of print
colours you want on the coaster and how the image is to be
inscribed…and, at all times, cost will be a prime
consideration.
Having spent time surveying the
market and collecting lots of samples you may well come to the
conclusion that one of the more cost effective desktop
promotional gifts is a lightweight aluminum calendar coaster
printed in full colour.
A rectangular size of around
150mm x 90mm gives lots of room for a clear and distinct twelve
month calendar with ample scope for a potent sales and
marketing message with perhaps a full colour photograph. The
very best examples of calendar coasters are made from
architectural quality aluminum and, because of their light
weight, are a superb mailing piece attracting the lowest
possible postal charges.
You can put a calendar coaster
on a lot of desks for quite a minimal outlay and it will keep
working away throughout the year letting everybody know the
date and, of course, details of your product or service.
Quantifying the various costs involved is quite easy and, at
the same time, reinforces how surprisingly inexpensive it is to
get your company details on someone’s desk…and keep them there
all year round.
Let’s look at 1000 calendar
coasters costing approximately 98 pence each spread over a
working year of about 220 days. Every working day the cost to
get your company details on a particular desk, be it client,
customer or prospect, is less than one half penny; no wonder
desktop promotional gifts are a popular way of advertising any
product or service.
Just try a test campaign using a
calendar coaster and a similar campaign without and check which
is the most effective. It’s likely that the mailer including
the calendar coaster will be at least 30% more effective than
the one without. And the same will be true for many of the
different calendar coasters mentioned earlier in this
article…but it all depends on the impression you want to give
your customers and prospects.
